Engine and Transmission  

• Duratorq TDCi 2.2L VG Turbo: a four-cylinder diesel engine with peak torque output of 385 Nm and power output of 118 kW.
• Duratorq TDCi 3.2L VG Turbo: a five-cylinder diesel engine with a stump-pulling torque of 470 Nm and power rated at 147 kW.
• New 6 speed Auto/Manual transmission.  

Capabilities 

• Ranger has a payload capacity of more than 1400 kg and a towing capability of over 3500 kg.
• Ranger’s outstanding ground clearance of up to 237 mm and class-leading water-wading capability of 800 mm (worlds best in its class)  boost its off-road capability
• A rock solid under-body gives the new Ranger a durable,ultra-tough foundation.
• E-locking Rear Differential to lock lock the the rear wheels for maximum traction.
• 4x4 shift on the fly lets you shift between 2WD and 4WD High and Low modes on with a turn of a dial.
• Ranger’s Traction Control System, part of the Electronic Stability Program, can prevent wheel spin proactively by precisely controlling engine torque to each wheel and by braking a spinning wheel completely
   

Chassis

• Ranger offers compact pickup buyers outstanding driving dynamics, thanks to a stiffer frame and carefully tuned suspension that reduces body roll and new front and rear suspensions that help keep the driver in control                                                                                                                   
• Ranger’s new rack-and-pinion steering system gives drivers precise steering control and has been carefully tuned for parking and low-speed manoeuvring                                                         
• Engineers meticulously reduced the levels of wind noise and road noise in Ranger, making it one of the quietest compact pickups in the segment

Safety

• Six Airbags, including side and curtain airbags-along with a reinforced cell.                                        
• Auto-headlamps-comes on automatically when there's not enough ambient light.
• Roll-over Mitigation to reduce the risk of getting into a roll over.
• Hill Launch Assist-To help you pull away on steep inclines.
• Hill Descent Control-To help you stay in control on steep downhill grades.
• Emergency Brake assist -Applies maximum brake pressure in an emergency stopping situation.
