In keeping with the company’s steadfast commitment to environmentally friendly practices, we have put in place several measures to control pollution and conserve the environment. Every drop of rainwater and wash water is collected from the underground drainage system at our complexes at Madapatha and treated and purified. An incinerator is used to dispose of solid waste while polythene is sent for recycling. We received a Bronze Award at the Green Sri Lanka Environment Awards in 2002 and a Gold Award in 2004 from the Federation of Wildlife Conservation, in recognition of our efforts to create public awareness on environmental preservation.

Despite our success, we have not lost sight of our responsibilities to society and the not so fortunate among us. Our enduring interest remains the educational empowerment of children in need. We place a great deal of emphasis on health care and on activities and projects that give children a head start in life, enabling them to become productive citizens of our country. An annual feature of our welfare programme is the regular ‘Sisu Denuma’ educational seminars for ‘A’ Level students.
